Press freedom group Reporters Without Borders has had its consultative status with the UN commission on human rights suspended for a year at the request of Cuba.
The request followed a protest by RWB activists against the decision to let Libya chair the commission. RWB insists that granting the chair to Gaddafi’s regime has been a disgrace to the commission.
It has hit back at its suspension by publishing a report that claims dictatorships such as Cuba and China have taken over the commission to strip it of all substance.
