UK performance car mag Evo powers into 33rd international market with China launch

By Jimmy Nicholls

UK-based car magazine Evo is launching a Chinese edition in Beijing today as part of a partnership deal with China Automative News Co.

The move means Evo will be available in 33 international territories –  including France, Singapore, Italy and Malaysia –  making it Dennis Publishing’s biggest international title.

International licensing director Ian Bedwell said: “We are already in talks with potential partners for more Evo licenses in the coming months.”

The magazine specialises in high performance cars and had a UK circulation of around 50,000 in the first half of 2013.

Speaking for China Automotive News Vince Zhang said: “2013 was a very successful year for car sales in China which looks set to continue into 2014, so we are confident that the new launch will be very well received by readers and advertisers alike.”

Evo China will be released with a cover price of 15 Chinese yuan (£1.51).
