Integrated business-to-business media company Penton Media Europe
(PME) has promoted managing editor Mark Turner to the role of editorial
director.
Turner will take on responsibility for content in all
of the company’s print, web and conference activities including
Internet World, Accounting & Finance and Enterprise Content
Management, and the company’s other print magazine and web site,
iSeries.
His appointment comes after the completion of the company’s management buy-out from US parent company, Penton Media Inc.
Turner
joined the company in July 2004 from Wilson Publications where he was a
founder editor of eight titles including Customer Relationship
Management, Customer Service News and Field Service Management.
He
started his journalistic career writing about the electronics industry
for journals such as The Engineer and Electronics Weekly after
graduating from UMIST in electrical and electronic engineering.
Turner
said of his appointment: “This is a very exciting challenge. We want to
see the same high quality editorial values applied to web content and
all of our media as are traditionally applied to print magazines.
“This
is a highly ambitious company and is well-positioned to have some fun
after the high tech media doldrums of the last couple of years.”
