Trinity will launch ‘Lite’ version of Birmingham Post, claims report

By admin

We highlighted yesterday how a newspaper war was about to break out in Birmingham as Trinity Mirror had withdrawn publication of its local glossy magazine to focus resources against a rival.

TheBusinessdesk.com is reporting today that Trinity will launch a free ‘Lite’ version of its weekly Birmingham Post to rival launch of free weekly Birmingham Press.

Birmingham Post Lite will launch a day ahead of Chris Bullivant’s Press next Thursday, it was reported, and distribute ‘18,000 homes in upscale areas such as Sutton Coldfield, Solihull, Harborne and Moseley”.

Bullivant’s paper is planning to rival Trinity Mirror’s in Birmingham by distributing around 25,000 papers each week with a mixed free/paid for model.
