35. British journalism's greatest ever scoops: Hutton Report Leaked (The Sun (Trevor Kavanagh), 2004)

The nation was on tenterhooks awaiting the outcome of the Hutton Report, and on the eve of publication The Sun splashed with news of its headline findings – revealing that the Government was largely in the clear.

The source of the leak remains a mystery, despite an official inquiry.

The Hutton Report was printed at the same printers that was used to prepare the publication of MPs’ expenses data, which was obtained by the Daily Telegraph.
