After 13 years an era has ended for Trinity Mirror trainees in Newcastle. Paul Cuthbertson, an architect from Jesmond, has provided accommodation for more than 100 of Trinity Mirror’s hopefuls over the years, but this year he is reclaiming his home for good.
In characteristically stoic style he said: “It’s been hell, but somebody had to do it.”
Alexandra Williams of The Mirror lived with Mr Cuthbertson between 1996 and 1997. She said: “The Newcastle Training Scheme will not be the same now Ripon Gardens is off the accommodation list.”
