Broadcaster Eamon Dunphy is set to leave the Dublin radio station NewsTalk 106 when his two-year contract presenting its flagship breakfast programme expires at the end of August.
“It’s a lifestyle choice. I was tired of working from 4.30am until 9.30pm,” he said when asked about his unexpected decision to quit when the station is due to go national in the autumn.
Citing his increased commitments with RTE sports, the former Republic of Ireland and Millwall footballer said he had a lot of work on his hands.
