The Times finishes 2014 on a high as only national newspaper to grow sales in December

The Times finished 2014 by being the best performing national newspaper in terms of year-on-year circulation change for seventh month in a row. (Picture: Reuters)

The News UK title's circulation averaged at 390,765 for the month, up 1.64 per cent year on year.

The Sunday Times was the next best performing title, recording a circulation of 787,256, down 3.11 per cent year on year.

The Sunday Mail (220,098, down 13.9 per cent), Daily Star (426,300, down 13.31 per cent), Sunday Post (188,670, down 12.92 per cent) and The Guardian (177,880, down 12.4 per cent) were the worst performing titles during the month in terms of year on year change.
