Tickets for the Highlands and Islands Press Ball have all been snapped up

By Ilse Bruijn

Tickets for the Highlands and Islands Press Ball and Media Awards have been sold out within five days.

This annual event, which is organised by Inverness-based Lucid PR, Events and Marketing, will be held for the 26th time on 7 February in Inverness.

The ball has for the first time this year joined forces with the Media Awards, sponsored by Diageo, Highlands and Islands Enterprise and Fujitsu, which is open for entries until 27 November.

The organizers hope to bring together journalists and PR managers who are normally scattered across an area the size of Wales.

John Ross, chairman of the Highlands and Islands Press Ball and Media Awards said: “While media professionals in the Highlands and Islands can be geographically distant from one another, the communities they serve often share the same issues. Due to the size of the area it is difficult for us to meet up with colleagues but once ayear a growing number are making the effort.

“These are testing times for the industry so it is a welcome opportunity to bring people together and highlight our strengths.”

At the event money will be raised for four local charities.
