Three Western journalists were missing in Iraq late this week, with at least one of them thought to be kidnapped.
George Malbrunot from Le Figaro, Christian Chesnot from Radio France Internationale, and Italian freelance journalist Enzo Baldoni all disappeared on Thursday.
The Italian was shown apparently in the hands of Iraqi militants in a video broadcast by Al Jazeera on Tuesday. They said they could not guarantee his safety unless Italy announced its withdrawal from Iraq within 24 hours.
