The Sun on Sunday: Jeremy Kyle’s legal team tried to ‘block’ wife’s ’20 sex romps’ story

By William Turvill

The lawyers of talk show host Jeremy Kyle threatened The Sun on Sunday with an injunction ahead of its story reporting his wife's "20 sex romps" with a “polo hunk”. (Shutterstock picture shows Kyle and wife Carla Germaine)

The News UK title noted in its story: “His legal team tried to block The Sun on Sunday from telling this story despite the fact he makes millions of pounds exposing people’s personal lives on his ITV show.”

The story came after Kyle announced the break-up of his marriage last Thursday, telling The Sun that "after 13 years of a generally happy marriage my wife and I, Carla, have separated amicably”.

On the injunction threat, a Sun spokesperson said: "Mr Kyle pursued legal means to prevent the story being published, however given his career in exposing personal relationships, and the decision to place his family in the public eye, we felt there was sufficient justification for printing the story."
