The National Assembly for Wales is offering up for tender next month the contract to broadcast its sessions, writes Wale Azeez.
The tender is for a broadcaster or television production company to provide “operational services for the broadcasting, recording and archiving of the proceedings of the National Assembly for Wales.”
The broadcasting contract would be for a period of three years with an option to extend for an additional two.
Starting on 26 August, 2005, the contract will include operating broadcasting equipment to provide live coverage of plenary and committee meetings in the Cardiff Bay assembly building – as well as outside of it as and when directed – to be used by the Assembly’s partner broadcasters and its internet broadcaster; recording and archiving all public Assembly proceedings; and maintaining broadcasting equipment owned by the National Assembly for Wales.
The time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 13 September.
Invitations for tender will go out to the selected candidates around 11 October 2004.
