Teletext boosts editing team

Teletext has expanded its editing team for news, sport, finance and racing content, from seven to 11 editors.

The team, led by chief duty editor Bob Newton, now includes Ginny Bridgewater, previously at The Argus, Brighton, and Zoe Corney, who joins from the South London Press.

Ben Kunicki joins the team as sport and racing duty editor and was previously on the Teletext in-house sports desk. Nick Metcalfe is also joining and was previously a Teletext sports journalist.

As part of the changes, Tanya Jefferies has been promoted to assistant chief duty editor, including a brief to oversee and develop the finance service. Teletext outsourced its sport, racing and finance content to PA at the end of 2005. The new editing team will oversee all Teletext services over a 24-hour period and will handle all viewer calls and emails.

Teletext operates digital text services on ITV and Channel 4, and the analogue text services on ITV, Channel 4 and Five. It has a weekly audience of 16 million.
