Telegraph Media Group has promoted its website communities editor, Shane Richmond, to the post of head of technology editorial across its digital and print platforms.
Richmond first joined the Telegraph as a sub in 1998. Returning to the company in 2001, after briefly working for an internet start-up business, he oversaw introduction of blogs and personalisation feature, My Telegraph, to telegraph.co.uk.
In his new role, Richmond will lead the Telegraph’s new technology unit.
Edward Roussel, digital editor of Telegraph Media Group, said: “Our new tech unit will be shedding light on what the future holds for technology and media at a critical time for the industry.
