Sugar launches celeb section

By Press Gazette

Sugar is boosting its celebrity coverage with the launch of a new 16-page section Celeb Central!, writes Ruth Addicott.

The section is due to launch in the May issue (out on 28 March) and will feature all the top celebrities, interviews and latest showbiz gossip.

Editor Claire Irvin described the section as a “mini magazine” within the main magazine. “We’re really excited about Celeb Central! – our new mini mag devoted entirely to the latest star gossip and interviews,” she said. “It is classic Sugar and is full of our trademark off-the-wall humour and irreverent style.”

Sugar claims to have stuck with its policy of putting models on the cover instead of celebrities – like most of the other teen magazines – and the new section will enable it to give celebs the “cover-star treatment” they crave.
