NUJ members at The Herald, Sunday Herald and Evening Times, Glasgow, are to be balloted for a second time, due to a technical problem, on whether to take industrial action over changes to their pay date.
According to the union, 86.5 per cent of those who voted were in favour of strike action, while 93.8 per cent voted for some form of action. The result should be known early next month.
The change in pay date from the 20th of the month to the 26th would mean staff would have to change direct debits and mortgage payments — and could be fined for not paying on time.
Newsquest has offered to compensate anyone who finds themselves out of pocket.
