PCC rejection looks like a whitewash, says King

Convicted paedophile Jonathan King has written to members of the Press Complaints Commission contesting their decision to reject his complaint against the News of the World.
King alleged that the NoW had manipulated a picture and then claimed he was "ogling" a boy in Hyde Park, London.
The PCC ruled there was no evidence that the picture had been altered (Press Gazette, 1 July).
In his letter, the former pop producer and columnist suggests that the PCC should have interviewed a documentary director who was filming him in the park, as well as a deckchair attendant.
King also suggests members of the PCC should have visited the scene where the photograph was said to have been taken.
He added: "If the purpose of the PCC was to whitewash the behaviour of the News of the World and to support their efforts in deliberately seeking to deceive their readers by doctoring the photos, then I absolutely support their decision.
"But I still fail to understand why they didn't go through the motions, as then at least it would have appeared that they tried to get to the truth."
