Middlesbrough Football Club has rubbished a Daily Star report that the entire squad will be quarantined to stop the spread of swine flu.
The paper had reported that former Big Brother contestant Chanelle Hayes – who recently returned from holiday in Mexico and is rumoured to be dating midfielder Matthew Bates – feared she was suffering from the deadly disease.
The Star claimed that the whole Middlesbrough squad could be at risk if Hayes had caught the disease.
Club spokesman Dave Allan said: “This story is the result of the over developed imagination of a Daily Star journalist and is completely inaccurate.”
