ST Travel beefs up staff ahead of expansion plans

By Press Gazette

The Sunday Times Travel magazine is expanding its team ahead of plans to switch its frequency to monthly in January.

The glossy announced its decision to increase the frequency from bimonthly to monthly last week.

Editor Jane Knight said the move would require extra full-time staff as well as freelances. “We are recruiting staff across all divisions, the key focus is to have a team which is strong in the central editorial area. There will also be more opportunities for freelance writers,” she added.

Knight said she would be looking for feature writers, sub-editors and art editors. She stressed that the journalists would have to be of a high standard to match the quality of the Sunday Times travel desk.

Knight said the expansion plans would enable the title to widen its coverage.
