A spoof front page enabled the News of the World to keep David Beckham’s alleged affair as a genuine exclusive.
Infidelity between Posh and Becks is a story the tabloids have been hunting since September when the NoW photographed Beckham at a Madrid nightclub with his PA, Rebecca Loos.
To prevent rival papers getting Sunday’s NoW exclusive into their later editions, the paper began its print run with a story about Prince William on the front page. In the early hours it switched to “Beckham’s secret affair”, which ran on pages one to seven.
This week Beckham said the allegations of an affair with Loos were “ludicrous”. But as Press Gazette went to press the NoW had not been contacted by his lawyers.
