Mike Souter, head of group communications at Advanced Travel
Partners International, has left the company to pursue a career as a
travel writer and broadcaster.
Souter started his journalistic
career with the Kirkintilloch Herald and the Scottish Daily Express. He
then spent three years with Radio Clyde before becoming one of BBC
Radio Norfolk’s original staff in 1980. He has been a regular writer on
travel for the Eastern Daily Press and will be contributing regular
features to the paper.
Souter said of his career move: “I have
been writing about travel on a freelance basis since I joined the Royal
Navy as a cadet in my late teens.
“I have already been given some
very interesting commissions which will take me to places as diverse as
Uzbekistan, Finland and Thailand in the next six months.”
