Someone needs to get themselves a hobby

By Axegrinder axeblog

A village sub-postmaster in Sussex is authoring a blog which ‒ among other things ‒ takes newspapers to task for the weight of their loose inserts.

Inserts which ‒ our irate blogger informs us ‒ he is no longer getting any extra dosh for handling.

Number one in the advert-weight hall of shame this Saturday was The Times, with 208g of inserts, 19.24 per cent of its total weight.

Next was The Guardian, with 194g out of a total weight of 1,162g.

The heaviest advertising insert was for Bordeaux food and travel and was found in The Guardian and The Independent. The heaviest paper was The Daily Telegraph at 1,429g.

There are plenty more fascinating ad-weight facts on the blog.
