Society of Editors conference returns to London in November with theme ‘Freedom to Inform’

By Louise Ashwell

The Society of Editors’ annual conference will return to London on November 11 and 12 with the theme 'Freedom to Inform'.

Sessions at the Tower Hotel will take place over two days on topics including: the relationship between the police and the media, the future of regulation, freedom of information, secret justice and pre-charge anonymity.

A ‘star-studded’ line-up of contributors has been promised.

Society of Editors president and editor of the Press Association Jonathan Grun said: “This year's conference follows a year in which countering threats to the media have been at the forefront of the society's work.

"We will use this conference to make the case that an independent, robust press is truly a force for good and it will be a forum to debate the key issues with our critics."
