Slade: succeeds Wighton
The Financial Times has made Andrew Slade its financial news editor following the departure of David Wighton to New York to become US editor.
Slade, who will be head of the second section of the paper, Companies and Markets, has been at the FT since 1990 and was previously editor of international company news.
Deputy editor John Ridding said: "Andy has done a wonderful job as head of our international companies team and brings a deep knowledge of the corporate world and a sharp news eye to his new position.
"He will make sure we continue to set the UK and international corporate agenda and build on our record of scoops and special investigations."
Lina Saigol has moved from mergers and acquisitions to become the investment banking correspondent, Tony Tassell has become the investment correspondent from his position as deputy UK companies editor and Andrew Parker, who was a political correspondent, is the financial correspondent.
