Sky News has set the launch date for its forthcoming Ireland service.
From Monday, 10 May, Sky News Ireland will broadcast its twicenightly, half-hour bulletins at 7pm and 10pm, covering news, sport and weather from across the country.
A “review of the week” slot will air at the weekend at 7pm and 10pm.
Anchored by Gráinne Seoige, the Sky News Ireland team will work closely with the Northern Ireland bureau, run by David Blevins and Gary Honeyford. The broadcaster claims two-thirds of all households in Ireland will receive the new service.
The launch announcement follows Sky News’s appointment of bulletins news editor Joe Walsh and his deputy Sally O’Herlihy.
