The Sunday Times Scotland is beefing up its business coverage in Scotland by appointing Sharon Ward as its new business editor.
Ward, 30, is currently business editor of Scotland on Sunday. She is being replaced by Vicky Masterton, who joins from the ill-fated daily Business am.
Ward, who will take up her new role shortly, joined Scottish Television as a graduate trainee and spent eight years there before moving to the Sunday Herald business desk.
She had a spell as a special adviser to Scottish First Minister Donald Dewar, but when he died moved to SoS.
Another Business am staffer, James Ashton, has been appointed deputy city editor of The Scotsman.
And Robert Powell, business editor of The Herald, steps down later in the spring to be based in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, in a senior communication role with the United Nations.
He will be gathering and disseminating information on issues such as human rights abuse – complementing the work of organisations such as the BBC and Reuters.
