Shortlist Media to take free women’s weekly into France

Groupe Marie Claire and Shortlist Media are to launch a weekly French edition of Stylist in spring 2013.

The magazine will be distributed in nine cities including Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Bordeaux and Strasbourg, with a target launch circulation of 400,000 copies per week.  Shortlist Media said the move follows a 12?month period of intense development and research with women in France.

Stylist France’s team includes editor Aude Walker, previously in the Glamour launch team, and editor?at?Large Audrey Diwan, who also worked at Glamour, first as culture editor, then as features editor. The team is led by Gwenaelle Thebault, publisher and managing director of Stylist France, who previously worked as marketing director of Group Marie Claire.

Jean?Paul Lubot, associate chief executive officer of Groupe Marie Claire said: "In Britain, Stylist has become a magazine loved by its readers and respected by advertisers. Our research shows the huge potential in the French market for an intelligent and stylish title that is handed to ambitious, professional women.”

Stylist UK was launched in October 2009 by Shortlist Media and is edited by to Lisa Smosarski. It has a weekly circulation of 431,266.

Shortlist Media is an independently?owned business which launched its first brand, free men's weekly Shortlist, in 2007.
