Sharpe move

By Press Gazette

Antonia Sharpe, left, former Financial Times reporter and assistant features editor, has joined the PR department of bookmaker Ladbrokes to help run the corporate side of the business. Sharpe started her journalism career with Reuters before joining the FT in a stint that lasted a decade. “I love the FT, it really is my spiritual home, but after a period out with my children I realised it wasn’t what I wanted to do any more.” She joins after a significant in-house reshuffle. Sharpe added: “All that Ladbrokes needed was a corporate and industry PR to round off the team and that’s where I came in.” So can she see herself ever returning to a career in journalism? “I don’t think so. If anything, I’d now like to own a racehorse.”
