Richard Klein, the BBC commissioner behind documentaries including Stephen Fry: The Secret Life of the Manic Depressive, has been announced as the new controller of BBC Four.
He fills the vacancy created when Janice Hadlow moved from BBC Four to become BBC2 controller. She replaced Roly Keating, who joined a new project in October, overseeing – and making sense of – the BBC’s vast archive of programmes.
BBC director of vision Jana Bennett said in a press release: “Richard has been part of BBC Four’s success from the very beginning and will ensure that the channel continues to cover a broad range of specialist subjects while taking it on to the next stage.”
