Reuters has announced a deal to provide the Financial Times website with regular video news updates.
Reuters already provides the FT with pictures and financial data as part of a three-year deal signed in Octobers.
The global agency this week signed a deal with the International Herald Tribune to co-edit a branded global business news section, Business with Reuters, starting next year in print and online.
Gary Williams, head of media sales at Reuters said: ‘The recent enhanced data deal with FT.com and now, the provision of insightful, up-to-the-minute video news, demonstrates both Reuters and FT.com’s commitment to providing the most powerful readership with the most powerful information in the market.
‘We are delighted we are extending our relationship with FT.com and look forward to continuing to work together to deliver the most authoritative data and news to business and informed individuals around the world.”
Ien Cheng, publisher and managing editor of FT.com added: ‘We now create and publish over 100 popular videos of our own every month and this number will increase in 2008. Video from Reuters will play an important role in complementing and building on this as we move into 2008.’
