Red magazine is being launched in Holland this month as part of publisher Hachette Filipacchi UK’s plans to globalise the brand.
Red, which was credited with creating the “middle youth” market when it launched six years ago, will also be developed in at least one further European country next year, the company said.
Julie Harris, general manager of women’s titles at Hachette, said: “Red is a unique magazine brand which has the potential to become a recognised international best-seller in its market.
” Red has been a huge success in the UK where many have tried to copy its style and tone.”
The Dutch edition of Red is published as a joint venture between Hachette Filipacchi Medias and Quote Media, Holland’s largest magazine publishe.
Ten issues of Dutch Red will be published a year with projected sales of 80,000 copies per month
