The Daily Record produced a 176-page edition last Friday – the biggest in the paper’s history. Part of the package was a “Roll of Honour” of more than 15,500 names in a Uefa Cup final special edition of the fans who followed Celtic to Seville. Mark Hollinshead, managing director of Scottish Daily Record & Sunday Mail, said: “This was an unbeatable piece of work. In sales terms this week, we have thumped the opposition.” This capped a celebratory week at the paper, which picked up awards for Team of the Year and Reporter of the Year (Steve Smith) at the Scottish Press Awards.
