Record attempt in newspaper-collecting at St Brides

By Press Gazette

Fleet Street’s St Bride’s Church will be displaying newspapers instead of traditional harvest goods in order to set a new world record. Officials of the church, which has longstanding links with journalists, aim to collect and display a record number of different world newspapers in one place.

The event marks the 50th anniversary of the rebuilding of the church, which was damaged during air raids in 1940.

Organisers are calling on publishers to send copies of their newspapers published between Sunday 2 September and Saturday 8 September to help reach the target of 2,007 different newspapers.
