CNN started coverage of the US presidential election for its European audience this week by sending London-based presenter Richard Quest to be its main anchor on the road reporting from the opening primaries.
Quest will team up with Jonathan Mann for live reports and a special edition of Insight from New Hampshire primary elections on 27 January. The pair will front the network’s coverage of global reaction and interest in the presidential elections, interviewing the top candidates, policy makers and citizens.
Quest will follow proceedings of the 2004 election in a customised “CNN Election Express” bus, beginning a year-long road trip from the Iowa caucuses and on to New Hampshire to report on the build-up to the primary elections on 27 January. CNN will also feature special reports from European political editor Robin Oakley and senior Middle East correspondent Brent Sadler.
