Piers Morgan had a hand in a Daily Mirror front page today for the first time since…well for the first time in a long while.
His former paper carried news that he had wed Telegraph journalist Celia Walden at a low key ceremony.
It was attended by a handful of friends and family, the Mirror reports.
Morgan has been named as a possible successor to Larry King on CNN.
But the Evening Standard media column yesterday suggested otherwise.
It reported that Morgan “appears to have missed out on the chance to host the 8pm prime-time slot on 24-hour TV channel CNN in the States after the job was given to Eliot Spitzer – the ex-New York governor who became notorious for his fling with a call girl.
“Morgan is also said to have held talks about taking veteran chat-show host Larry King’s 9pm show – although CNN has been very loyal to King and has given no indication yet that it wants him to give up his perch.”
