Nick Phipps, programme editor 0f ITV Evening News, is leaving ITN for Sky News after 10 years with the broadcaster.
He will join Sky News as executive producer of its flagship bulletin Live at 5 in September, replacing Mark Calvert who was recently announced as Sky’s designated first editor for Five News with effect from January.
Phipps, 32, joined ITN as a graduate news trainee in 1994.
He went on to be an output producer on News at Ten, science producer and Europe producer, where he worked on stories ranging from the Kosovo War to the fall of former Yugoslavian leader Slobodan Milosevic.
He has been a programme editor at the broadcaster since 2001 and revamped ITV’s Lunchtime News.
