Onward and up for New Scientist

By Press Gazette

New Scientist editor Jeremy Webb is to take on an editor-in-chief role, overseeing increasing closeness between the magazine and website of the Reed Elsevier weekly.

The title, which celebrated its 50th birthday last year, is recruiting a new editor.

Webb said of his new role: ‘I’m looking particularly at the US, where we’ve had amazing growth over the past few years, and India, where we are launching our latest edition later in the spring.’

New Scientist (excluding Austalasia and America) had an ABC figure of 113,453 – up 0.4 per cent in the last six months of 2007.
