The NUJ has called for members to show their support at a vigil for kidnapped BBC correspondent Alan Johnston.
The vigil will be staged outside the Palestinian General Delegation office next Wednesday, 25 April between 12.30pm and 1.30pm.
The NUJ vigil has the support of the International Federation of Journalists whose General Secretary Aidan White arrived in Gaza last night to deliver messages from the NUJ and MEPs demanding Johnston's release.
The letter signed by 177 MEPs was the result of last Monday's day of action in Brussels organised by the IFJ with the support of the NUJ.
It is now 39 days since Johnston went missing in Gaza. Yesterday, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said he believed the journalist to be alive, following confirmation from his intelligence services.
