Three groups have so far expressed an interest in the new local FM commercial radio licence for Norwich, writes Caitlin Pike.
The Norwich Radio Group, a consortium including Barry Dennis, managing director of Archant Norfolk, is planning a station for the over-30s with a blend of local news and music.
Crown 100FM is led by former Anglia Television chairman David McCall. The major shareholder is Tindle Radio, which already has two stations in the region. It is proposing “an older focus station with strong local news”.
The third group, UKRD, owns and operates KLFM in west Norfolk.
Applications have to be submitted by early March 2005.
