The Non-League Paper is aiming to go head to head with the national papers by relaunching itself as The Football Paper — covering all levels of the national game.
The Non-League Paper is ditching its Thursday edition and amalgamating The League Paper with The Non-League Paper.
The move comes three months after the title went into administration and was brought out by businessman Simon Burrell, who runs the Entertainment and Sports Agency and website footymad.com.
Editor David Emery said The Non- League Paper has recently been selling 37,000 and The League Paper has been selling 25,000 — so he was hoping for a combined sale for the new title of at least 50,000. It has an initial print run of 150,000, and will cost £1.50, 10p more than the NLP.
The Non-League Paper will now appear as a 64-page insert inside the new title.
Emery said: "For the very first time, football fans will be able to receive complete coverage of the national game in one package."
