NoW's Hayley Barlow joins investigative website Exaro

Former News of the World head of PR Hayley Barlow has joined investigative journalism website Exaro to head up publicity and promotions.

Following the closure of the NoW in July, Hayley set up PR consultancy Jubilee Communication specialising in crisis management and media relations. Other clients include sports retailer Decathlon and the Pearl Group.

She joins two journalists formerly on the News of the World newdesk who have joined Exaro's editorial team: Keith Perry and Tim Wood, who are working as commissioning editors.

Exaro has said it is currently looking to recruit two further commissioning editors, one to work across its UK and international channels and the other for its business channel.

Barlow said: 'I'm thrilled to be working on Fleet Street with some of my former colleagues and joining a news organisation whose core values are transparency and accountability.'

Exaro describes itself is an online subscription service which 'investigates issues that are important to business in particular and to the public in general, but which are being inadequately covered – or ignored – by the mainstream media".
