Flanagan: will ‘open the door’
NewsPost, the West Yorkshire independent publishing company started by Danny Lockwood, has recruited Mark Flanagan, sports editor of the Hull Daily Mail, as production director.
NewsPost, based in Dewsbury, has a core weekly title The Press, with a mixed free and paid-for circulation of 28,000 a week, and contract publishes both Yorkshire County Cricket club’s magazine The Yorker, and Lockwood’s own rugby league newspaper, League Weekly.

He said the addition of Flanagan, a former Yorkshire Post sports sub, will “open the door for some fantastic business developments”.
These are believed to include both new editions of The Press, plus new contract publishing opportunities.
