James Garnett has been appointed news editor at the Plymouth Evening
Herald less than five years after joining the paper as a trainee
reporter.
Garnett, 32, rose through the ranks, becoming the
paper’s defence reporter in early 2002, reporting on local troops from
Belize, Oman and Afghanistan.
He was promoted to deputy news editor last November.
Garnett succeeds John Casey, who is leaving to pursue a career in PR.
