Dennis Publishing has recruited Vivien Cotterill, to be managing director of its consumer titles as part of a major shake-up at board level, writes Ruth Addicott.
Cotterill was formerly managing director at Attic Futura and Hachette Filipacchi, but was made redundant in March.
I Feel Good’s Tom Gleeson is to take over as chief financial officer and Bruce Sandell becomes group publishing director. James Tye is promoted to managing director of the computer division. Alistair Ramsay remains chief executive officer. The reshuffle follows the takeover of IFG and Erotic Review.
The acquisition is part of an ongoing programme to invest in the UK, after years of focusing on the US operation.
Felix Dennis welcomed the new team: “Funding a start-up in America which grew from zero to more than $200m turnover in just six years came close to killing us as an independently financed company. At one point it threatened to destroy the parent company as the latter laboured under the burden of feeding and nurturing a gigantic cuckoo in the nest. But all’s well that ends well – even if I did have to sell a couple of Rolls-Royces!”
