Jeremy Hillman has taken over as editor of the economics and business Centre in BBC News.
Hillman replaces Daniel Dodd, who is now head of Nations and Regions Interactive.
The economics and business unit brings together more than 160 business journalists across radio, TV, and online.
Hillman will be responsible for all daily business coverage for outlets including the Ten O’Clock News, programming on Radio 4, Radio Five Live, News 24, BBC World and the BBC World Service.
Before joining the Business and Economics Unit, Hillman was editor of BBC World, the BBC’s 24 hour global commercial television channel.
Prior to that he ran the BBC’s New York bureau, and has also lived and worked in BBC bureaux in Brussels, Washington, Singapore and Hong Kong.
