A new glossy
magazine for Britain’s black community launches next week, aiming to
focus on lifestyle over ethnic minority issues.
Noir , which is
calling itself the “definitive black lifestyle magazine” will hit the
UK newsstands on 25 February, priced £2.80, and will also be
distributed in the US, Canada, Europe and Africa. It will initially be
bi-monthly, with a print run of 200,000, and aims to go monthly in
March next year.
A spokeswoman for publisher Blackstone said: ”
Noir aims to be an all-encompassing lifestyle magazine and to move away
from the traditional, limited coverage of magazines designed for people
of colour. It will reflect the increasing importance of black people in
society as leading trendsetters and decision makers.”
