Mark Huband has been appointed defence and aerospace reporter at the
Financial Times. Huband replaces Mark Odell who now becomes the FT’s
telecoms correspondent.
Previously security correspondent, Huband
will cover aviation, defence and aeronautics, as well as
securityrelated issues. Prior to this he was the Financial Times
correspondent in West Africa and the Middle East.
Nim Caswell,
deputy managing editor, said of his appointment: “The evergrowing US
defence budget is creating huge opportunities for defence and aerospace
companies, both sides of the Atlantic. Mark’s experience covering
terrorism and security will be particularly valuable as these companies
develop their homeland security business.”
