Jheni Osman has been appointed editor of BBC science and technology magazine Focus.
A former editor of a Turkish TV news agency, Osman joined Focus in December 2004 as assistant editor before becoming features editor.
Osman replaces acting editor Sally Palmer who will move on to work on new project development. Focus editor Paul Parsons left the magazine in November last year.
Focus, which had a circulation figure of 61,475 from January to June 2007, was named the PPA consumer specialist magazine of last year.
Publisher Andrew Davies said of the appointment: ‘Jheni has played a key part in ensuring the title’s continuing growth, and with a great ABC looking set to be posted next month, it’s going to be another really exciting year for the magazine with Jheni at the helm.”
