John Weir has been appointed publishing director of Merricks Media.
As former Future Publishing board director and head of its digital
division, Weir oversaw the launch of more than 20 new products and
headed a division with revenues of over £25m.
Prior to that he
was account director for a major advertising agency in London and
publisher of a number of technology magazines.
managing director of Merricks Media said of his appointment: “This is a

want to ensure we have the infrastructure to further develop our key
brands and grow as a publishing house. In just three years we have
built an enviable position as market leaders within the travel and
