Young people are to receive special recognition for the first time
at the Mental Health Media Awards 2005, thanks to a new category.
The
Young People’s Programme category celebrates exceptional broadcasts
that portray mental health issues experienced by young people. The
shortlisting panel were looking for programmes that were sensitive and
responsible in their depiction of the real-life experiences that may
affect young people as they grow up. The short-listed entries for this
inaugural award are A-Z of your head (Lambent Productions for Channel
4), The Big Toe Radio Show (BBC for BBC 7) and Wipe Out (BBC for BBC
Two).
